Process
Five business days, from theme access to a dated report.
We never work in your live theme, and we never publish. Everything happens in a duplicate you review before anything reaches a shopper.
-
Access, day one
You create a staff account with Themes permission only. No orders, no customer data. We duplicate your live theme and work in the copy.
-
Baseline scan and manual pass, day one to two
We run axe-core across six page types at desktop and mobile widths, then go through the three keyboard flows by hand: the variant picker, the cart drawer and the mobile nav. Automated testing detects roughly 30% of WCAG success criteria, so the manual pass is where most of what matters is found.
-
Remediation, day two to four
We fix in the theme code: contrast, alt text, form labels, empty links and buttons, page language, focus order and focus visibility. Every file we touch goes in the log with the criterion it addresses.
-
Re-test and report, day five
We re-run the same checks, record before and after, and write the conformance report: what was tested, on what date, with which tool versions, what was fixed, and what was not fixed and why.
-
Handback
You get a preview theme URL, the remediation log and the report. You review it, and you publish it yourself when you are ready.
Tested by hand
The three checks that decide whether a shopper can buy.
- Variant picker. Can a keyboard-only shopper select size or colour on a product page?
- Cart drawer. Does focus move into the drawer when it opens, and can Escape close it?
- Mobile nav. Can the hamburger menu be opened and traversed with Tab, Enter and Escape?

What we are not.
-
Not a widget or overlay.
We do not inject JavaScript that tries to patch your site at runtime. We change theme code, you review it, you publish it. If we disappeared tomorrow, your fixes would still be there.
-
Not a law firm.
Nothing we write is legal advice and the report is not a legal opinion. On your actual exposure, talk to your own counsel.
-
Not a guarantee of any legal outcome.
No one can sell you that. Anybody who says otherwise is selling you something else.
-
Not a certification.
The report is a record of what was tested and what was remediated on a specific date, by named people, with named tool versions. That is a genuinely useful document. It is not a compliance badge.
-
Not complete coverage.
Automated testing detects roughly 30% of WCAG success criteria. Keyboard operability, focus management and screen-reader flow need a human, which is why we do those by hand and say so in the report.
-
Not able to touch checkout.
Shopify controls checkout. We cannot change it, we will tell you that in writing, and it goes in the report under known remaining items.
